1978 Continental Mark V Emilio Pucci-Designer Edition - This is an original vehicle from Almaden Lincoln-Mercury in San Jose, California. I'm the 4th owner with owners 2 and 3, also collector enthusiasts. 74,000 original miles. In addition to the standard Mark's, Lincoln for 1976 introduced the Designer Edition Mark IV's and for 1977- 1979 Mark V's were offered. The four Designer Editions available included: Emilio Pucci, Bill Blass, Cartier, and Givenchy. The color scheme and black "Cayman" faux alligator roof were specific to the Pucci Edition, along with the interior colors, and the sun-visor covers in a Pucci fabric design. Production for the Pucci Edition was 4% or 3,125 vehicles. Total Mark V production for 1978 was 72,602. At the time California vehicles had the smaller 400 cubic inch engine or 6.6 litre, with only 151 horsepower, all to comply with the strict California emissions laws. Great around town, a bit slow getting on the freeway. Once on freeway it floats down the road effortlessly.
