Palm Springs car auction tops $5.8 million in sales -

Keith McCormick’s Palm Springs Collector Car Auction on Feb. 24-26, which broke previous attendance records, ended with 459 crossing the auction block. A total of 304 vehicles generated $5,831,525 in sales.

“More than the usual number of cars sold for above the sellers’ reserve price,” said Keith McCormick, possibly because of many new bidders. “We’ll see if it becomes a trend.”

Notable sales at the auction included a 1962 Corvette (Lot #249) selling for $73,500; a 1961 Lincoln Continental Convertible (Lot #318) selling for $54,600; a 1950 Olds Convertible (Lot #203) selling for $95,550; and a 1968 Shelby GT350 (Lot #149) selling for $78,750.

The next auction will be in November 2017 at the Palm Springs Convention Center.
