    Owner Comments:
In 1955 Ford introduced what was to become one of the most iconic American automobiles ever built. The 2 seat Thunderbird roadster was introduced as a “Personal Luxury Sports Car” to compete with the first- generation Corvette. The 2-seat version of the T-bird was produced for only 3 years, 1955 through 1957. For the 1957 model year, the appearance of the Thunderbird was enhanced with a new grill, new bumpers and the addition of the now famous rear tail fins. The 1957 version is considered by most to be the most beautiful of the 2 seat Thunderbirds. This gorgeous Thunderbird immediately attracts attention wherever it goes with its original Colonial White body and matching Colonial White interior. The T-bird is very well equipped with power steering, power brakes, power windows, town and country radio and a soft top which folds down behind the seat. It is powered by the 312 cubic inch (5.1L) 4-barrel V8 producing 245 HP and mated to a 3 speed Fordomatic automatic transmission. New and real wire wheels with period correct wide white wall tires have been recently added. Although the tires are period correct for appearance, they are actually modern design radials for more comfort and safer ride. For dependability and safety, an electronic ignition module has been fitted inside the original appearing distributor cap. The generator original to the car has been replaced by a modern alternator that is however built into an original appearing generator case. These small modifications are virtually undetectable but make the car highly dependable. By nearly any measure, this beautiful Thunderbird appears exactly as it would have the day it was built. The car was originally built in Dearborn MI and delivered to Holmes Tuttle Ford in Beverly Hills CA. A gentleman in Canada is believed to be the 2nd or 3rd owner of the car. He owned the car for 35 years and performed a comprehensive restoration in 2011 including both a complete engine and transmission overhaul. Current owners purchased the car from the 2nd/3rd owner in Canada in 2016 and completed an extensive refresh in 2017. Items included; carburetor rebuild, several body panels painted, new windshield glass and window wing glass, intake manifold gasket, complete power steering rebuild, many new or re-chromed parts, new wheels and tires and much more. This T-bird has won numerous car show awards including Best in Class at the 10,000 Lakes Concours d’Elegance in 2017. The car has been meticulously maintained and kept in a climate-controlled garage for at least the last 40 years. It runs perfectly and is ready to be seen around town or driven out on the highway.
