    Owner Comments:
Porsche 911... Is there anymore to be said? The name stands out by itself in the annals of history. As the successor to the Porsche 356 in 1964, the 911 has remained unchanged in its basic configuration since then. Design enhancements have been made throughout the years and the 911 series continues forward today as one of the longest running production vehicles in history. The 2001 Porsche 911 falls into the 996 series (company code) that spanned from 1999 to 2004. In this fifth generation design, the 996 series took a "radical" turn in the form of a water-cooled engine and a redesigned body. The stock 3.4L, 4-valve engine produced 296hp and pushed the 7-inch longer, 2-inch wider body in a quieter and more efficient manner. Even with a larger body, the more raked windshield and new body contours aided in lowering the drag coefficient for a sleeker cut through the air. This 2001 Porsche 911 Carrera is a 2-door Coupe model and wears a red livery paired with a black interior. Both exhibit nicely with the classic sports car coloring. This coupe includes a sunroof for a more open air feeling. The 3.4L engine starts and runs very well. Power is delivered to the road through a 5-spd "Tiptronic" automatic transmission that operates smoothly in both auto and manual modes. The Porsche 911 is an ageless design and this 2001 911 Carrera Coupe carries on the lines and the moniker very well. It will make a great daily driver for the next owner, or a weekend warrior to carve up some southern California mountain roads.
