    THIS CAR IS LIKE BRAND NEW. CURRENT OWNERS STATES THE 18800 MILES IS ORIGINAL. The 1949 Oldsmobile Series 76 was a budget-friendly, entry-level Oldsmobile that was part of the GM Heritage Collection. The 76 Series was discontinued in 1951 and replaced by the 88 and Super 88 models. Features: Engine The 1949 Series 76 was originally equipped with a 231 cubic inch (CID) 6- cylinder engine. However, the short-stroke, high-compression overhead valve (OHV) V8 engine was standard in other Oldsmobile models in 1949. Transmission The standard transmission was a 3-speed manual, but a 4-speed Hydra-Matic drive was also available. Body style The 1949 Series 76 was available as a 4-door sedan or a club coupe. Interior The interior included a front bench seat, a rear bench seat, a Superheterodyne radio, and gauges for coolant temperature and amperage. History: General Motors owned the 1949 Series 76 from 1949–2009. The car was sold from the GM Heritage Collection in 2009 and has since been owned by collectors.
