The Fiat 500 went into production in 2007 and promptly won "Car of the Year" title from the British magazine, Car, followed by "World's Most Beautiful Automobile," in 2008, from Design-Italia. That same year, the Abarth was introduced at the Geneva Motor Show. In 2009, the "fixed- profile convertible" (aka Cabrio), 500C, was debuted in Geneva as well. After a 27 year absence from North America, Fiat joined forces with Chrysler, and brought the 500 to North America in 2011. The 500C Abarth is the culmination of those models, and unites the fun and energy of them into a convertible performance car. The electrically operated canvas top opens the roof center section while keeping the contour lines and integral strength of the body. The 1.4L "Multiair" turbocharged engine is rated at 160hp and zips the lightweight "Bambino" around in a very sporty fashion. This 2015 Fiat 500C Abarth is in great condition and definitely highlights all the design features. She is quick on her wheels and handles like they're on rails. The disc brakes at all four corners bring her to a halt rapidly. The exterior red paint with black trim follows throughout the interior also. All of it is solid with little signs of wear. With the Cabrio design, the top open driving still retains an "inside the car" feel and remains relatively quiet and comfortable. The 1.4L engine fires right up and runs superbly. The mated 6-spd automatic transmission operates smoothly, and includes the "manual shift" option. The drivetrain comes with "Sport" mode and electronic stability control (ESC). The "Sport" mode alters the computer management of the engine, transmission, and steering for a more "spirited" driving style. All of it works well in this car. This is a very solid car with only 64K miles over its 10 year lifespan.
