This two-owner 1982 Datsun 280ZX is a rust-free, no excuses car. You will be hard pressed to find one with 15,400 miles, original paint and interior. This car started its life in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where it was undercoated. It has never driven in any kind of weather. It was brought out to California in 1986 and promptly went into storage. It was revived in 2002 with 13,820 miles on the odometer. Under the excellent care of Tokyo Automotive of Placentia, the car was completely gone through, all rubber components replaced, any issues resolved. In the last 10 years it has gone about 1,500 miles. It’s averaged 500 miles per year during its lifetime. This 1982 Datsun 280ZX is a completely rust free and beautiful car. It is a rare hardtop with even rarer two-tone factory paint. Everything is solid on this car and it is very original. It is in beautiful condition and needs nothing. It can be a show car or a driver just as it is. The AC is ice cold, all gauges work and the 5-speed shifts flawlessly. The clutch engages like new. The tires have less than 600 miles on them. The seats and interior are exactly what you would expect for a 15,000 mile car, near perfect. There is no sagging panel vinyl like you tend to find on these cars. The radio works and the antenna goes up and down. The paint is original and shows great with a couple of chips on the driver’s door. The voice warnings for low fuel, lights on, and door open, work as well. There is not a lot of documentation that goes with this Z but it does have its original owner’s manual, Japanese punch card build sheet and warrantee information. It, of course, has a prefect Carfax report and a perfect VinAudit report. No surprises or disappointments here.
