This 1954 Corvette was purchased in 1988 from Richard Carpenter of the singing group "The Carpenters" who is an avid car collector. The previous owner has owned this car since then for over 23 years now and is a Chevrolet dealer in Southern California where the vehicle has been stored and garaged. Only 3,640 Corvettes were produced in 1954. This nicely optioned Corvette comes with Polo White exterior paint with original red interior and beige top. Powered by the original correct block 235cid "Blue Flame" 6 cylinder engine, correct Carter side draft carburetors and automatic Powerglide transmission. Features optional white wall tires, parking brake with alarm, AM radio with signal seeking, windshield washers and rare removable plexiglas side windows. The engine, drivetrain, fuel system and braking system have recently under gone a one-year, no-expense-spared mechanical restoration. The engine was removed and professionally rebuilt to original specs. All original electrical, cooling and fuel systems parts were either rebuilt or replaced with period correct components. The fuel and brake lines were all replaced. New brake hoses, wheel cylinder, shoes, master cylinder were replaced. The Powerglide transmission was rebuilt also. All replacement parts were obtained from Corvette Central and vehicle comes with receipts to support. Approximately 300 miles since completion of mechanical restoration. Comes with a copy of previous CA title showing was previously owned by Richard Carpenter. This Corvette was a late production built Corvette and came with chrome rocker cover and dome style air cleaner top. A true iconic piece of Chevrolet and automotive history.
