    Owner Comments:
This particular Riviera, from the first model year 1963, is a highly optioned vehicle, including a rare original matching number 425 engine for that year. Only six percent of Rivieras in 1963 had the optional 425 with a giant torque rating of 465 (the symbol on the huge factory air cleaner). This particular Riviera was also produced late in the model year, giving it a rare 140 MPH speedometer. Practically no expense or labor was spared on this exhaustive restoration, completed in 2013. Virtually everything works on this Riviera. A good portion of the hundreds of hours were spent on ensuring that the numerous factory options were properly restored. And the non-option items were repaired such as the difficult to access wiper motor (required removal of the hood). This matching number engine runs VERY STRONG and has been left intact in its original condition because all cylinders have nearly identical compression at 175. The exact match VIN is stamped and easily verified on the front of the motor. It has its original transmission, rebuilt last year. New chrome, numerous new mechanical parts, and brand new radial tires. The all new two - tone burgundy-black interior blends nicely with the burgundy paint. The paint is not the original color which was silver. (I was planning on keeping the car for a long time and wanted a more colorful finish.) The other options--ALL RESTORED/-- on this very highly optioned Riviera are: --AM/FM radio (a very rare individual option across all 1963), with power antenna, restoration to exceptional sound quality included a factory correct speaker. --Air Conditioning, restored with a newly installed compressor and colder R-12 refrigerant. --6 power windows (including rare power vents) --4 note horns (3rd and 4th long horns); factory sound, as loud as a truck. --Power seat. --Tilt steering wheel. --Trunk release in glove box. --Wire wheel covers. --Remote outside mirror. --Heavy duty springs. --Tinted glass. The 1963 Riviera is featured on the recent cover of the August 2013 issue of Hemmings Motor News magazine for its 50th birthday ! A classic guide wrote that the Riviera was born for 1963 as a stunning coupe, artfully blending American and British style, as a new svelte personal-luxury car which changed Buick’s image almost overnight.
