Shelby 500KR Fastback I purchased this Shelby 500 KR, serial number 8T02R206154- 03394, in 1988. A few years later it was placed on blocks in dry storage until 2009 when a professional, no rush, 5 year restoration was started. The car was in good shape to begin with but everything that needed attention was either restored or replaced. Original 51,033 miles when restoration began, now less than 52,000. 428-CJ engine, 4-speed top loader gear box, 3.50 traction-lok rear axle. Car was ordered with GT equipment group, visibility group, sport deck rear seat, power steering, power front disc brakes, tilt-away steering, am radio, interior décor group and shoulder harnesses. Deluxe Marti Report. Produced June 4, 1968, one day behind schedule. Finished in original color – Highland green #3067A “Bullet color” over black. Matching numbers. All Ford sheet metal and components as well as difficult to find Shelby parts were retained. Only 1,053 ’68 500 KR Fastbacks were produced. Perfect, reliable car.
