    Owner Comments:
The Briggs Coachworks built 2,743 of these bodies in 1938 and shipped them to Ford for assembly. 1938 was the lowest production run for this body style that started in 1935 and ended in 1939. The Early Ford V8 Club international roster has about 9 of them listed as running cars and best informed estimates place about 50 of them as still on the road. This one has been rebuilt from an all steel car to replicate a late '50's street cruiser but it has modern running gear. Here is a rundown of its components: 350/350 engine/transmission with a Ford 9" rear end...power front disk brakes...Griffen aluminum radiator that has a shroud and two 10" electric Spal fans...MSD electronic distributor...ceramic coated exhaust manifolds...Edelbrock intake manifold, carburetor, air cleaner and oil pan..completely rewired...Speedhut gauges with tachometer and GPS speedometer...15" powdercoated wheels and Coker Classic whitewalls...Ididit steering column and a LaCarra wheel. Body modifications include a Carson style lift off top...moulded hood, trunk, cowl vent, running boards and a Hagen gas cap door...hidden trunk hinges...gas struts used for hood and trunk supports...tuck 'n roll upholstery including the trunk...acrylic urethane paint and period correct pin striping. Another interesting item is the gear shift knob encased in the clock housing. It was striped by Von Dutch in 1977.
