1976 Transmode by Coachman - 1976 GMC Transmode 23-foot motorhome by Coachman with 13000 original miles since new, not a rebuild but thought to be original, original miles (VDO speedo installed by Coachman indicates 13,301 miles). Production data indicates that only 549 23-foot Transmodes were built in 1976. Of that number it is unknown how many were sent to or acquired by Coachman. There was a total of 1016 23-foot Transmodes built between 1975 to 1978 (4 years). GMC stopped doing 23-foot interiors from those years 1975 to 1978. The only 23-foot GMC interiors were from 1973 to 1974 where a total of 629 was built. The total 23-foot GMC production for both Transmodes and Birchevens was 1649. There was a total of 12,921 GMC motorhomes produced for those 5 years of both sizes. This makes the 23-foot motorhome extremely rare given that the production represents 12%. Consider that it is estimated that less than 8000 units of both the 23 and 26-footers remain on the road out of 12000 produced (cannot confirm this number but thought to be accurate).
