This rare 1951 New Yorker, a premier luxury car of its year, has been restored to show quality. It “starts on a dime and drives like a dream.” Runs excellent with its original 331 HEMI-head engine—fully rebuilt—and the original 4 speed “fluid-matic” transmission. Hundreds of hours were spent on this restoration. The rebuilt engine was finished in immaculate detail, including the amazing lettering on the HEMI valve covers (“ Chrysler Firepower ”). This original HEMI engine was first introduced by Chrysler in 1951. There is new chrome throughout, and all engine accessory parts are powder coated. Innumerable mechanical parts and components were repaired or replaced, keeping the car in its original configuration. The restoration included a complete overhaul of the engine, transmission, drive shaft, and numerous other components such as the carburetor, gas tank, mid body-power brake booster, all six wheel cylinders, radiator, water pump, generator, starter, distributor, oil bath air cleaner, etc . All of the interior is 100 percent new, with era correct fabric design, and a recast original steering wheel. Brand new tires and original black plates professionally restored. Driving, this New Yorker has strong acceleration, rides smooth, and steers straight as an arrow.
