This 1988 BMW e24 M6 (aka the “SHARK”) was purchased new by the seller in San Jose, CA at Stevens Creek BMW in March 1988. The car was always driven on sunny days, open road, and only as a second vehicle. As a side note, this car has NEVER been “tracked” nor driven in inclement weather. The vehicle is powered by a now 3.7-liter S38 inline-six cylinder with a five-speed manual gearbox and is finished in Cinnabar Red with Natur Leather interior, professionally pin-striped with a custom “M” centered over the rear wheels. Luxury interior includes rear beer cooler. The car has original paint, interior, stereo and is equipped with the optional 17 X 8.5 BBS RS with 13mm wheels and the suspension is Dinan Stage III, putting the car at European Road Height. The M6 was the second fastest BMW ever built at 158 mph – only the equally rare high-performance M1 coupe boasted a higher maximum speed. Lifting the hood reveals a magnificent DOHC, fuel-injected inline six taken from the M1, topped with the words “M Power” cast into its finned camshaft cover. The underside of the trunk lid contains a comprehensive set of small hand tools, including the famous/original “Little Blue Rag”. Never used original spare tire complete with German air. Approximately, in 2011, the car was shipped to Metric Mechanic in Richland, MO, for a complete rebuild of the engine, including a new, all aluminum radiator. The rebuilt original engine has less than 10,000 miles on it. The engine is coupled with a new high-performance clutch and lightened flywheel. Intake airflow meter is a later model allowing larger airflow in with European headers exhausting gases through stainless steel exhaust and factory newer catalytic converter. This vehicle is fully documented with maintenance receipts, including original window sticker, original and new car covers. This car has been truly loved and cared for by original/current owner.
