1949 Cadillac Convertible, A very nice car in every aspect.. Finished in non metallic turquoise blue this Cadillac received a bare metal repaint (photos of car in bare metal in photos). The paint is very deep and paint quality is very good, the car has been painted aprox. four years ago, all trim, bumpers, glass, fenders, hood and trunk were removed at painted separately. There were no major rust issues prior or present in the car. Doors, hood, trunk and top all align nice. Rubber weather-stripping including inner and outer window channels are new. The car just had a majority of the chrome all re plated to a triple plated show quality level, there were over 81 pieces sent out for both exterior and interior, the chrome has a two year warranty. The off white convertible top is also aprox four years old and works well both up and down and is aligned proper so it is easy to latch. The factory hub caps have been polished and carry new correct center Cadillac emblems, the car sits on Vintage Wide whites Bias ply in good condition being replaced aprox 8000 miles ago. All glass is in good condition with the acceptation of the windshield that carried a small stone chip to each side but I do have two replacements that will come with the sale, all lenses also in good condition. The bottom of the car is as clean as the top half frame is excellent and painted, inner fenders also very clean. Please see the photos. The original matching number motor has been rebuild from the bottom end to the top, the crank is the original one and was in very good condition I have receipts for the motor, the motor runs cool and has good power. The carb was also rebuilt and all hoses, belts etc. were replaced. The transmission is also in good condition and has had a recent fluid and filter change, I do have an extra 49 transmission that can go with the car if the new owner wants it as well as a new fuel pump, another carb, spare crank, and boxes upon boxes of spare 49 Cadillac parts, the parts alone are probably worth $5000 but I do not need them the parts would fill up a bed of a pickup truck. The suspension is good with some parts in the front end just being replaced and the car just had an alignment and drives straight even at highway speeds. All lights Hi Beam- lo Beam, turn indicators, interior lights, trunk lights and horn are working, and the clock has been rebuilt and also works. Interior is very tidy, the seats were re done four years ago, The steering wheel has been restored along with the shift caps and turn indicator caps, the steering wheel has a few very, very small hairline cracks maybe in three spots only noticeable up close when looking for them. all windows have been restored to work fast in both the up and down position, passenger front is not working from the passenger switch only the driver switch maybe it need to be cleaned? I did not re chrome the window switches and after looking at the interior they should be re plated. Power seat also working correct .Radio is not and I have an extra one too. Trunk is finished in a vintage Cadillac material and has a spare with good tire the floors in the trunk are excellent. Carpet is new. Under carriage is very clean.
