The 1974 Chevrolet Corvette offered here has been in a local Southern California collection for more than 24 years! Powered by the inimitable LS4, 454ci V8, mated to a 4-speed manual transmission, the engine, lurking under the revised hood with scoop, has been breathed on, with upgraded heads, carb and headers and exhaust. Rebuilt a few years ago, the engine produces considerably more horsepower than standard. The car runs exceptionally well with strong and responsive power, and accelerates to 60mph in well under 6 seconds. It starts perfectly, idles and shifts through the gears in perfect working order. It was found that the car would breath better without an air cleaner. The owner, a meticulous collector or cars and motorcycles, bought this as a bit of easy fun. The car features T-tops, power windows, power door locks, tilt steering wheel, and nice cold A/C. The 15 inch cast-aluminum wheels are shod with great BF Goodrich tires. Brakes, suspension and power steering are all excellent. The car stops in a straight line and corners well. The jet black paint is excellent, having been repainted about 10 years ago, yet is still excellent with great lustre and depth of shine. The interior, which is mostly original, is in great condition with excellent dash, carpet, and panel surfaces. The seats were restored and re-trimmed in quality leather, which transforms the luxury of the interior. A nice after-market Alpine stereo system has been installed. The meticulous owner has kept this car in a climate-controlled garage, regularly serviced, maintained and detailed. All of his vehicles had to be “ready to go” and the quality of that care is reflected in the obvious quality of this car. It will not disappoint. The car is a great pleasure to drive. The power of the engine is intoxicating, and the car corners well.
