McCormick’s Celebrated 35 years in business with their 70th Live Palm Springs Classic Car Auction

On February 26th, 27th & 28th the McCormick family conducted their 70th live Classic car Auction in the outdoor event area of The Palm Springs Convention Center. This was their 2nd live event produced during the Covid Pandemic. This event followed all CDC guidelines to keep staff and attendees safe.

While the number of consigned vehicles was down from their usual pre-covid numbers of over 500 vehicles the event was extremely successful with total sales surpassing their previous November auction even though this sale had fewer consignments. McCormick noted “There’s a shortage of high quality classic cars on the market and those that are available sell for strong money due to supply and demand”

All in all a total of 322 vehicles crossed the block with 230 changing hands for an impressive 72% sale rate, well above the nation average at a reserve auction.

High sales include:

(prices include 6% buyers premium)

Lot 120 1969 Ford Bronco hammered sold at $74,200

Lot 220 1940 Packard 120 Convertible hammered sold at $96,460

Lot 258 1966 Chevrolet Corvette 427 Coupe hammered sold at $100,700

Their next sale is scheduled for November 19th, 20th & 21st 2021 once again at The Palm Springs Convention Center.
